Work with your legal counsel and asset management to ensure that all leasing documentation addresses inside wiring, riser and rooftop management and removal of cable at the end of the lease term. Some real estate companies are requiring a security deposit or letter of credit for cable removal costs from their tenants.
::Institute Management Plan for Building Cabling
Ensure the building management team has an effective plan in place for the review, approval and oversight of cabling installed in the building on a going forward basis. This plan can include on-staff or outsourced riser management of all riser spaces to the tenant demarcation point. The tenants must be required to furnish plans for cabling work in their premises for review, approval and archiving by building management.
